Pastelillo y Otras Dulzuras..

Cupcake and Other Sweets..

¡Hola querida gente! Paso por aquí para decirles que ya he terminado el tutorial para hacer un pastelito todo sonrisas y un poco fornido, un adorable cono de helado medio cabezoncito y una dulce y amigable paleta de hielo.

Hello dear friends! Stopping by just to tell you that I have finished the tutorial to make a smiley and kind of chunky cupcake, an adorable big headed ice cream cone and a sweet and friendly ice pop. 

He hecho las piezas como ornamentos, pero también pueden hacerse como adornos para una guirnalda, corona, broche y otras linduras. Me encanta como se ven todas las piezas juntas en la guirnalda de abajo.

I have made the pieces as ornaments, but they can also be made as embellishments for a garland, a wreath, brooch and other pretty things. I love the way all these pieces look together in the garland below.

Pastelito, Paleta Helada y Cono de Nieve

Cupcake, Ice Pop and Ice Cream Cone

Cuando era pequeña no me gustaba comer golosinas o cualquier otra cosa con azúcar. Mis familiares y amigos no podían entender cómo era posible que fuera incapaz de comer una barra de chocolate, un caramelo o pancakes bañados en miel. Sólo tomaba pedacitos de esas dulzuras y con eso tenía suficiente para estar empalagada por una semana. Así de rara crecí, pero yo veía esta rareza más bien como una bendición que me ayudó a entrar en la ropa con facilidad durante mis años mozos. Sin embargo no me duró mucho el gusto ya que todo cambió en cuanto entré en edad. Fué entonces cuando algunas golosinas comenzaron a tener un lugar en mi lista de compras y mi búsqueda por recetas de postres gradualmente creció. Casi sin darme cuenta el helado de chocolate, las paletas heladas de coco y casi cualquier tipo de cupcake se volvieron irresistibles para mi! Mmmmhhhh se me hace agua la boca con sólo pensar en ellos :)

When I was little I did not like to eat candy or anything that had  sugar in it. My family and friends were puzzled with the fact that I was unable to eat a chocolate bar, a piece of candy or pancakes bathed with syrup. I remember trying just bits of those sweets and that was enough to be "overly sweetened" for a week. I grew up this weird, but I saw this weirdness of mine rather as a blessing that helped me get into my clothes with no problem during my younger years. It didn't last long though since everything changed as I grew older. It was then that some treats began to have a place in my grocery list and my search for dessert recipes gradually grew. Almost without realizing chocolate ice cream, coconut ice pops and almost any type of cupcake became irresistible to me! Mmmmhhhh Just thinking of those treats makes my mouth water! :)

Así que en honor a mi creciente amor por todo lo dulce es que he diseñado estas simpáticas piezas de fieltro que pueden hacerse como ornamentos o como parte de un móvil o guirnalda. Lucirían lindas decorando cualquier fiesta infantil ¿no les parece? El tutorial estará listo prontito, yo les aviso.

So in honor of my growing love for sweet treats I designed these smiley pieces of felt which can be made as ornaments or as part of a mobile or garland. They would look pretty as a child's party decoration, wouldn't they? The tutorial will be ready soon, I will let you know.

Colgante de Pascua

Easter Wall Hanging 

Hola querida gente! De rapidito paso por aquí para actualizarles en mi proyecto de Pascua. Les había dicho que estaba trabajando en un colgante que incluiría tres animalitos: un conejo, una oveja y un pato. Pues bien, una vez que puse los tres peques juntos el conjunto lució un poco "atiborrado".. muy "lleno" para ser más clara. Así que decidí hacer el colgante con sólo el conejo al que agregaré también unas flores y eso será suficiente.. Les incluyo una foto de una conejita que ya tengo terminada, verdad que está linda? 
 
Hello dear people! Just a quick note to give you an update regarding my Easter project. I had told you that I was working on a wall hanging that would include three little creatures: a bunny, a lamb and a duck. Well, once I put the three little ones together the piece looked a little “crowded”.. too busy. So I decided to make the wall hanging with only the bunny and I will add a few flowers to complete the piece. I am including a picture of one of the bunnies I have finished, isn’t she pretty?
 

Voy a tratar de usar el diseño de la oveja en algún otro proyecto y lo mismo haré con el pato.

I will try to use the lamb and duck designs in another project later on.

¡Hola! Espero que todos ustedes estén bien y que estos días de invierno (o verano en el hemisferio sur) los estén disfrutando mucho haciendo alguna de sus manualidades favoritas.
Por fin he tenido un momento para sentarme en paz a escribir por lo menos una nota corta acerca de lo que tengo de nuevo en mi taller estos días. Les diré que he estado trabajando en un colgante de Pascua que incluye un conejo, una oveja y un pato en fieltro. Lo quise hacer lo más sencillo posible, o mejor dicho, lo más sencillo que mi complicada mente me lo permitió :) Sé que voy a cambiar muchos detalles todavía pero sólo quería darles un pequeño avance de las dos piezas terminadas: el conejo y la ovejita. 

Hello there! I hope this finds you well and enjoying the winter days (or summer days in the southern hemisphere) working on any of your favorite handicrafts. I finally had a moment to sit down and write at least a short note about some of the new things going on in my studio these days. I have been working on an Easter wall hanging that includes a bunny, a lamb and a duck in felt. I wanted to make these pieces in the simplest way possible, or should I say, as simple as my complicated mind allowed me to :) I know that I will still be changing many details but I wanted to share a preview of the two finished pieces: the bunny and the lamb. 

En cuanto al pato, ya he terminado el patrón pero es cosa de darme tiempo y coser la pieza. Lo ideal hubiera sido tener el tutorial ya terminado para estas fechas pero no me ha sido posible... en fin que les mantendré informados de mis adelantos en este proyecto.

Regarding the duck, I have the pattern ready and now it’s just a matter of finding the time to put the piece together. 
In an ideal situation the tutorial would have been finished by now but sadly that was not possible. .  so anyway, I will keep you informed about my progress on this project.
